Guest Simon* Report post Posted April 15, 2010 I knew they were relisted but didn't know you had checked them Lips? These are 3 piece right? Lip = dish! And give the illusion of bigger diameter rims. $1500 for Gen big ones with Conti sports isn't terrible either

crazyarab 6 Report post Posted April 15, 2010 (edited) Haha you just added half a second!!! typo soz, timed it when I did not have LSD + drive shaft issues. That's all sorted so should have some very interesting acceleration now (can't wait to get it back from the mechanic) . Guest Simon* Report post Posted April 15, 2010 Ha! Barrels are one thing, and as you well know Senor Gold, lips are interchangeable. Getting hold of multi-piece genuine 17" Schnitzers to begin with is quite another

Getting hold of multi-piece genuine 17" Schnitzers to begin with is quite another spot on simon but 1500 + 4 lips PLUS 5 stud = might aswell just buy a house ! Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted April 15, 2010 Proper wheels and 5 lug (not a hack job) should set you back around 5K I'd say. Some have done it cheaper, but not many.

crazyarab 6 Report post Posted January 8, 2011 (edited) Time to revive this thread... Have finally got the Hartge rims down to Chch and found some spare time to mock up what they would look like. Kiril was nice enough to let me test fit them on his 5lug conversion. As you can see... HUGE is probably an understatement. The real kicker is that the front is going to also need 20-25m spacers to fit over the wilwoods... so for this bitch to work I'm going to have to follow in westy's footsteps which is highly unlikely (as expected) Also, I think these were previously fitted onto a tractor not a BMW... what the f**k kind of rubber is that! Makes it look even bigger than they already are. Got Poke? lol... With the right rubber it doesn't look quite so bad... crazyarab 6 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Ok, revival of thread once again... For the pro's what would you recommend: BBS RS003 Rear: 16x9 ET0 (3" lips) or 16x8.5 ET12 (2.5" lips) Fronts will be: 16x7.5 + 23mm spacer = ET13 (1.5" lips) Need to decide today if I'm going ahead or not. Blackie what setup do you have on yours again?
Lucan 196 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Mine: 16x8 +7 2" Lips 16x9 +7 2.5" Lips Spacers would be needed for anything slightly larger than stock brakes on my set-up. Your specs look good? With a spacer up front like you've mentioned I'd go for it! Rare will be pretty close to flush on the guards, if you're low. DO ET.
crazyarab 6 Report post Posted September 16, 2011 Was having a chat with Jed before and seems like getting 1.5" lips on the front might be pushing it so may have to consider sticking with 1"... Here is a photo of what his 15x6.5 ET 33 rims looked like with 23mm spacers on. Using the wheel offset calculator a 16x7 ET25 rim will poke out an extra 14mm. Calculation: http://www.1010tires.com/wheeloffsetcalculator.asp Current wheel spec: Width 6.5 / Offset 10 (33 - 23mm spacer) New wheel spec: Width 7 / Offset 2 (25 - 23mm spacer) Outer position: Extend extra 14mm So if I'm to get another half inch put on with the 1.5" lip I would get something like 27mm (14mm + 1/2 inch) poke outside the guard.. thinking that would need serous guard work to pull off? So... looks like the best option is to run 1" lips front 2.5" lips back for final setup of: 16x7 (1" lips) + 23mm spacers 16x8.5 (2.5" lips) rears Got stagger?? Lucan 196 Report post Posted September 17, 2011 My calculations could be bad, but by extending the lip 12.7mm the offset will drop from +2 to around -4.3 Which is 33mm more than the wheels you pictured. lol.

Yeh man, not ideal at all... hopefully with the 16" clearing the brakes properly I can run smaller spacers. I know with Jed's 15's it only JUST managed to fit without scraping
