Fuel tank issues

Recommended Posts

I have a problem that I have never had before.

My M Coupe will only fill to 3/4 of a tank. It will NOT fill any more. I have ruled out my gauge being faulty. It just won't take more than about $67 of 98 and then overflows if I put more in.

I have given the car a shake in case it hadn't filled any additional fuel cells in the tank but it hasn't worked.

Anyone??

Weird looking plastic thing isn't it? Only 50 lts to start with, are you sure it's not full? Maybe you should empty it completely and then fill it?

Or try (at your own risk)

: Car off

: pull fuse 31

: car starts

: car off again

: replace fuse 31

: start car and check fuel gauge (no luck)

: car off

: pull fuse 23

: start car

: car off again

: replace fuse 23

: start car and check fuel gauge (yahoo - it works)
