BM WORLD 1279 Report post Posted March 24, 2010 pretty good cars , parts not to bad , trans maybe will need work at some stage , but maybe swap it out for a manual . engines go for ever as long as you dont overheat them and do regular oil changes etc . so give the cooling system a good going over the odd little electrical fault but nothing that is a surprise to a bmw tech. some interior bits will fall apart , but the leather interiors are better Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
pjay 8 Report post Posted March 24, 2010 In the couple years ownership of mine I've: * blown the auto trans twice before converting to manual. * replaced everything interior wise except the actual seats, carpets and dash. * never had to do any reactive engine maintenance, only proactive. Owait I lie, my engine fan dropped a blade. * only had to replace a lower control arm suspension wise. * replaced my headlight bulbs once, and tail light bulbs about 10 times. * never quite figured out why my horn works intermittently.
