Grant 4 Report post Posted February 20, 2005 Flew down to Napier for the weekend to enjoy a bit of R&R at Kim Crawford Winery. Caught up and had lunch with a guy down there who just bought an 2004 M3 CSL. We went for a cruise in it afterwards, and wholy farrrk it was fast, it was amazing, and the engine noise....if there is a better noise that comes from a car I'd love to know what it is (and even then I still wouldn't believe you). He had the (barely) road legal optional track tyres on it (that you can't use in the rain). They only last 9,000km's and cost $6,500 for a replacement set. Once they were warm, this car had incredible grip, so the braking for corners and accelerating through them provided as much G Force as I have felt in a car. It was a good way to spend a chunk of an afternoon. Cheers

E30_318i 0 Report post Posted February 20, 2005 Better sounding engine- Ford 289, 302 or 351 V8 (matter of opinion, of course) Sounds like a good once in a life time event, does anyone know how many are in the country? Speaking of those sorts of cars, I saw a 996 GT3 RS at Manfield today

Guest Spargo Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Black CSL > Silver CSL (so stealth [as if a CSL is ever stealth]) That's not "HOTT" is it Grant? Man i've got some good CSL stories to tell... ...Like the 33 year old divorced law partner, friend of my old mans, when she got divorced, the CSL was the first purchase. She's a babe too! ...like the CSL on my street who blatantly drops a coupe of cogs and rapes it past the guy who just got a 997. ...like the asian guy who did a u-turn in upland rd, at about 7.5K revs and held the slide for a good 80m. Deftones 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 Kym Crawford wines is where I had my first drive in a M3. Drove from there back into Hastings. Can't say I've seen a CSL up close and personally, except for one I saw at Jerry Clayton's this time last year.
Grant 4 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 That's not "HOTT" is it Grant? No, not a personalised plate (I assume that is what you were asking)
*RJ* 0 Report post Posted February 21, 2005 I've seen a black one in Parnell, it was super sexy because the carbon fibe roof and skirts were so subtle. Only thing was though he had the slicks on and it was pouring down with rain that night I went for a ride in an M5 in the weekend - I loved it!?!?!
