danutt 4 Report post Posted June 3, 2010 93 325i vanos m50 goes well most of the time but sometimes wheni plant the foot it feels like absolutely no vanos is there, a definite lack of power have done some searching around my vanos itself isnt noisy so shouldnt be broken but may be worn enough not to initiate vanos? the solenoid that operates on 12v could be faulty and would lead to the same symtoms(how do i check the solenoid?) could perhaps be a bad coil?how to check? car doesnt miss and idles sweet cheers Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted June 3, 2010 if it was a bad coil it would cause a miss aswell as lack of power, and it wouldnt really be intermittent... sticky vanos is quite possible... if i were you take it to glenn in botany and get him to have a look.. cant really fix it without seeing it.
