briancol 3 Report post Posted June 9, 2010 Have a look at this link. It is a series of photos of Mike Conway's big crash at the end of the 500. These are some of the best pictures i have ever seen (for free that is). See how many components you can recognize flying off the car. The best news is that Mike is now out of the hospital and expected back in a car in 3 months or so. http://www.scottrichardsonphotography.com/...-wreck-5-30-10/

E30 325i Rag-Top 2959 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 That was a BIG accident, even at normal speed on TV, for that guy to be there and get those shots is 1 in a million, looks even worse in still shots. Clearly shows how well the drivers safety capsule held together, even through that accident which is pretty impressive.
elmarco 56 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 I see his problem - he should be driving on the road.... How stoked would you be if you had shot those photos? I think that's what's called as a career defining moment. Was it just me or are they using different sized tyres on the rear?
briancol 3 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 I do believe that the tyres on each side is different as it's an oval circuit and they only travel in an anticlockwise direction.
Grant 4 Report post Posted June 10, 2010 I do believe that the tyres on each side is different as it's an oval circuit and they only travel in an anticlockwise direction.and the oval has significant banking it eack of the corners, therefore there are different grip requirements for the right and left rear tyres.
