Shady 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 See photo. radaitor is fooked but the bottles seem fine. Is it worth taking them off & selling or just scrap the hole thing? Or sell it complete for the bottles? Not sure what its off either - anybody know? Honest opinions please. Im either scrapping it or take bottles off & scrap. antil33t 90 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 Top and bottom tanks? I don't think you can replace them without specialist gear... I'm no expert though. Just scrap the whole lot imo.
Shady 0 Report post Posted June 13, 2010 Was going to scrap wholething, but when I was going to replace the side bottle on my 318i radiator, it wasnt gonna be cheap so went for a whole brand new unit. Think it was around $160-$220 for just side bottle replacement (so not worth it). So thought may be worth selling the tanks as spares/replacements cos they look all good - cheaper than brand new. Any clues what its from though?

Nobimmer 694 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 Seriously, is it worth holding onto something you might get $3 for one day? I mean really.
Shady 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 Thats why I was asking if its worth the parts or not. If no demand for them, then I'll chuck it into my scrap pile.
[email protected] 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 You mean the end tanks? Just buy a entire new assembly, they probably look okay, but will have hair line cracks with age.
pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) radiators are cheap as chips anyway.. it would cost nearly as much to get the side tanks removed/refitted as it would to get another radaitor.... you could always leave it in the car when you scrap it.. may get a few more $$$ that way come on was this really worth starting a thread for???
