Fuel Line Fail?

Recommended Posts

hay guys.

driving home from work tonight and i started to smell gas and then my fuel light come on.

Was around 500M away from home so keep going but had to open all the windows

had a look under the car once i got home and there was gas pissing on from under the car around by the passenger seat.

I cant get under the car tonight but just after any ideas of what it could be?

Just the fuel line poping? or something else?

what kind of price would i look at for a new fuel line fitted?

Thanks a lot guys.

It'll be a pressure fuel hose leaking... check it in the morning when you can see properly.. it may be a DIY fix

My e30 did this the first time I gave it a full tank of gas (been sitting in a container ~6 years before I bought it), turns out that the return line from the overflow for the filler pipe was completely disintegrated, 3 dollar 10 minute fix from pickapart.

Halfway through writing that I realised that you said it suddenly happened, so yeah, Id guess a pressure line, see if gas comes out with the engine running would confirm that I suppose?

Should be an easy enough diy fix I think

I think you'll find its the hose that joins the fuel pipe to the injector rail under the top half of the inlet manifild
