curryinahurry 39 Report post Posted July 19, 2010 Hi, I just broke the door lock on my E46...the lock hasn't been very smooth the last few days when i turn my key - I thought it must've been the cold whether causing it to seize up a bit, so I turned it a few more times hoping to free it up. Unfortunately, I turned it a little too hard (not very hard at all) and heard a click - apparently thats the sound of a plastic tab breaking, a security feature designed to prevent people from breaking in. From my research (Clicky), I'm led to believe I need a new lock cylinder and the dealer wants $300+. So before I go ordering one, I thought I'll ask you guys if you know a better / cheaper solution? Cheers, Andrew

curryinahurry 39 Report post Posted July 20, 2010 Cheers Brent. Just ordered a similar product from EBay, coming from Turkey for $30NZ shipped. Could take a while to get here though.
