Exempt Class A

Recommended Posts

Im looking at buying a non-bmw car, anyway i got in touch with the owner and got his plates. Did the whole carjam check on it, but then noticed it was

Registration status: Active

Registration origin: New Zealand New

Vehicle usage: Exempt Class A (EA)?

looked on the ltsa website and found:

http://www.nzta.govt.nz/resources/factshee...-licensing.html

And it said it cannot be driven on the roads ? Has anybody had any experience with this ? or to change it back to normal licenses ?

Cheers Andrew

What it means is that he is being a cheap ass. People do this to avoid paying higher rego fees.

If you get caught on the road with it regd as Class A you will be fined $200.
