alcarhole 0 Report post Posted March 18, 2005 Just wondering if anyone has info on the supercharger kits for E36 and if anyone is selling them in NZ, also looking for a LSD for it too, probably clutching at straws tho Cheers.
aliluya 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 You can just go down to your local performance car shop ... or s specialised turbo shop and they can just throw something together for ya .. for around $6000+ ... Or you can import something from overseas for a complete kit that usually costs more in total... This option usually would cost $8000+ ...
bumpstop325 0 Report post Posted March 19, 2005 most amercian performance sites have s/c kit ti buy from about $3000 but bear in mind the exchange rate and shipping. shipping costs depend on when you want it. I got a 2nd intake manifold, landed in NZ for NZ$30. but on the other hand it took 3months to get here. Then customs will charge gst on the goods. but not if they are under $100. The way i get round this is send an email to the sender not to value the goods over $100 even when some items where bought for $300-400. The exchange rate i good at th moment but with all things its a gamble on whether you buy now or buy in 4months?

alcarhole 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2005 Cheers guys, Don't know if i can trust some performance shop "throwing" something together, do you think it prob wise to import something? any idea of performance shops that specialise in BMW? And the LSD I'd be lucky to find one in NZ wouldn't I?
bumpstop325 0 Report post Posted March 20, 2005 import one from the states or get on built. try some american bimmer forums and ask people about them. im sure they would be more than happy to help you with any questions reguarding the s/c kits and which ones are good and who are the crooks. Nate 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 By throwing something together i mean a custom kit put together by professional people ... you specify what ever you feel like and they can put it all together for you ... Instead of bring parts in... ship the car overseas....? Hartge, Schnitzer, Haaman, Koenig, Alpina and Mamerow will all put something together for you. Money talks of course. jackal 0 Report post Posted April 20, 2005 Well, what are the possibility someone can put something together without blowning it up in Auckland?? Do any of ya know anyone specialises in BMW that does the trick ??
inbred 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 they dont specalize in BMW but i know torque performance has done superchargers for other cars and would be able to do it for a BMW as well i would imagine. Would be $$ though
cainchapman 0 Report post Posted April 21, 2005 Yes. There are BMW people in Auckland who will turbo your car. But it's not cheap. Nic's 318iS Turbo for example. Built by the same guys that are building the Hulme. Spend the same money on working the motor properly in NA form. You'll need to talk to the Ex-BMW motorsport guys, not your dealer.
