outer ball joints E30

Recommended Posts

so im doing the suspension up front myself, and have assembled the strut for installation. have anchored the strut using the top mount so i dont have to deal with the weight, and i put the outer ball joint into place in the bottom of the strut. i have not replaced this as it is fine.

when i put the nut on to bolt the strut to it, the thread spins around and i cant get the nut tighter (is like a cock in a sock, its not even tightly on/loaded). tried to back the nut off and i cant do that either now

how do i stop the thread from turning?????

Put a jack under the control arm to load up the taper in the ball joint and tighten the nut

We've all been there. I know I have. A rattle gun made this process a million times easier, no need to load up pressure or anything.
