cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Hey guys, failed on a WOF this morning on a few small things (fingers crossed and touch wood) 1 - brake lights not working...not a fuse so assuming a brake switch 2 - brake hoses perished...self explanatory but 3 - rear left seat belt not retracting...well it is, but not strongly!! This is what i can't figure out...how do i get too this? I had a quick net search but nothing. So hoping someone knows how i can get to this. hotwire 352 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 Was just going to suggest the belt lube thing. You can also sometimes correct it by blowing the whole belt with compressed air. Think from memory the brake light switch turns quarter turn to release. This is how it is adjusted for depth. JaseNZ 53 Report post Posted November 4, 2010 (edited) yeah those brake light switch's are a bitch to get out, When i replaced mine i just ended up cutting the tabs on either side and pulled it out, The switch was stuffed anyway so was no point spending hours trying to get it out. From memory when putting the other one in push the white outer slide all the way in when putting it in. It should push up and clips in, Don't be afraid to use some force when pushing it up in there.
