help : e46 maf sensor

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

I own a 2001 e46 320i sedan which just broke down due to a faulty MAF sensor. Just wondering what fits my car in terms of the MAF sensor. So my question is

1. Will a 98 320i MAF fit mine?

2. Im looking for the part number but im no mechanic so i dont really know how to remove the MAF to see whats under it and what ive search from the net is

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-334807249.htm

http://www.autopartsworld.com/bmw_parts/32...rflowmeter.html

so is the part number PART # 13621432356 or W0133-1599645

Obviously i dont really want to spend up to 300-400 for the MAF (2nd hand) or 500 for a new one.. so what are my options?

Thanks in advance :)

The car will not normaly fail to operate due to a faulty MAF. If the MAF is faulty you will need the exact same MAF by part #. Unplug the MAF and try starting it. If it won't start, the fault is not the MAF. Where are you located ?

Hey glen,

thanks for the quick reply, located at mission heights area near you. I did a diagnosis a few months back, had all sort of errors come up. However, ever since i changed the camshaft sensor, everything went away but one error. My mechanic says its the MAF that needs to be changed. Is this true?
