e30 engine swap

hey guys newbie here. I decided to sell up/trade my ride for something with more go and a bit more room. I have always liked the e30s but at about 15bhp more than my current car, the 325i is hardly an upgrade in terms of power, kills it in old school coolness though

Now I have noticed that the smaller engine autos can go for peanuts on trademe, which lead me to a thought.

Roughly how much would I be looking at (excluding car) to buy an m50b28 engine and trans and have it fitted in the e30, bearing in mind that I dont have the space/time to do it myself. I want this done and need to start planning a budget.

Do you mean an m50 block with 2.8 internals put in or an m52b28

na I mean the 328i from an e36, is that not an m50b28?? lol sorry im still learning the ways.

No thats an m52b28, and they are full alloy block and head, much lighter than an m50.
