Time for a new car... what to get.

If you are looking at Honda etc, can only say good things about them. Wife & I have owned about 12 or 13 Honda's since 1979 - wife's current daily is a 2009 Honda Jazz Sport. They cost next to nothing to run, very economical, and are a couple of notches up the ladder from your every day Corolla etc..... I owned 5 different Accord models, all were really great driver's cars. You can't go wrong here........ if you are determined to leave BMW alone for a while......

Same here, had a 96 Civic (still do, now done 210k), 97 Accord (sold) and 04 Jazz Sport (lease expired). All very good, reliable daily runabouts.

Jazz - Cheap to run, and you can put so much in the thing it's not even funny. Seat folder down you can put 10 full size suit case in the back.

Accord - most comfortable car I've own, good space in the back, decent drive

Civic - Cheap to run, good drive, VERY reliable

If your gonna spend 10 k or over just get a nice e46 318i coupe that's one good looking car and cheap on gas if you get a non BMW car then you won't have a BMW your not worthy for this forum nah jokes but seriously stick to a BMW.

would like a 3.0l car for the extra bit of grunt but I don't really need the extra power right now.

also if i was to get a bmw its either a 320i or 318i e46. (only ones in my price range). is the extra 30 hp from the 2.2l l6 engine worth it over the 2.0l 318i?

Mate has one (6 speed), it goes well, not particularly fast though (low 15 1/4's)

Go the Honda route, that's not an entendre at all, I promise. They are good reliable cars, cheap to run and out perform the others in their class.

I don't know why but Im not really a fan on hondas. I know they are good cars but i just don't see myself purchasing one.

I guess now at the moment i have my heart set on either a subaru 2.0 non turbo or a 318i. Its just a toss up whether i want the awd subaru or the bmw. downside to subaru's is that the automatics are 4speed autos. so i just gotta go look at a few more and see what i like. having said that i actually haven't driven a legacy much so can't really compare the driving experience to a bmw which i enjoyed.
