Porsche/Euro car inspection in Auckland

Recommended Posts

Anyone in Auckland know of a Euro/Porsche dealership (they could recommend) to send a Cayenne Turbo for a pre-purchase inspection...

Cheers.

Not sure if Glenn specialises in Porsche, I would say failing that Continential Cars would be the place to go.

Gavin Bellars @ Hi Velocity has done all our pre-purchase inspections BMW's and Merc's. He might do it if he's got time.

What should I be paying for an inspection? I remember my Audi S4 was about 200 for the inspection at the dealership. Cheers.

Continental Cars or Giltrap Prestige.

Only get it done here ^^^Clinton and suck up on the cost of doing it. The ongoing costs will also hurt for maintenance.

But I thought they were cheaper to maintain than a Corolla and running costs are minimal?

That must be right then... because everyone that rings me or drives in and blocks my doorway thinks the same. They also think I carry everything in stock and I'll do "it now"

Get the chassis # and price front & rear disc rotors and disc pads + labour + Gst. Pads & rotors need changing everytime together most of the time. Cost a 40k, 60k, 80k & 120k service as well and make sure they price the complete mileage/ time costs for the service against the chassis #

Rear brakes (pads and rotor) including installation is about $2k for my 911. Will be around half of that if I source the parts from the UK or USA, and get Powerhaus to do the work.

FYI, Porsche dealer charges $120+GST, Powerhaus $85(?) + GST.

Point is, source your parts o'seas, and get a good indy to do the work for you. I heard good things about Autothority in Chch, lots of PCNZ members using them.

My E60 needed new disks and pads, I purchased them for half the price of the BMW Dealership on Ebay. I can't imagine you getting any change from 3k otherwise. These are all things I'll ask the owner when they were done last.

I'm beginning to think this is the norm for all businesses.

Motorscience here in Greylynn specialises in Porsches.

I have only heard very good things about these guys when it comes to Porsches.

They may be a very good option.

Forza does Itaian stuff mainly.

I too would say dealers for pre-purchase inspection and use a good independent garage for on-going maintenance.

Father inlaw owns a large testing station and workshop here in Dunedin - cheap repairs / maintenance.

Clinton - my friend is a mechanic for Porsche at Conti's... If your booking it in for an inspection let me know and i'll see if i can get him to do it and give it a hell of a going over.
