tire 10 Report post Posted January 25, 2011 I have a 260 here out of an E28 (I think). 260-01302-91. It has a lot of oil inside the bell housing and I want to fix the leak as I have just had the clutch plate resurfaced due to oil contamination. 1. Is there anywhere other than the input shaft seal that can leak oil into the bellhousing? 2. Is replacing the input shaft seal a DIY job for someone with no specialist tools? Thanks, Max. I got Ernst at Bavarian Motors to replace the input shaft seal, the o-ring in the round thing in the bell housing, the selector seal, the output seal (so that's every seal) and the nylon selector bush for a cost of $300 including parts.
