Whats this thing?!

Hey guys. Pod filtering my e36, upon removing my factory airbox i found there is what looks like coolant pipes. anybody know why they are for and would they be fine cable tied to the new pod filter??

there is a small gold bit that inserts into the hole in the airbox

Intake heat ;)

You can blank the system off easily enough,

One fitting is on the "spider" hose, the other is off a fitting on the head, runs too the throttle body to de-ice it.

or just put a k&N panel filter in it...

No point putting a 'pod' filter on unless your making a proper ducted cold air intake and using a decent filter element. Most of the pod filters on the market just let more particles in the engine, thus increasing wear so be careful.
