m325i 709 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 I need one as mine has a crack, but i need to know a few things.... 1) will a 2.0 m20 manifold fit? are they the same as 2.5? 2)whats a fair price? 3)Who would fit one? a mechanic or an exhaust place? 4) Price to fit it? 5) Should i get the cat converter taken out at the same time? Price to fit will be 1 hours labour, so round $45 - $60 mark and in the near future there is a rule coming in, were as your are not allowed to remove cat converters or any mufflers from your standard exhaust system, This info came from my local exhaust shop. Much respect It depends - it will fit yes.. but pre-facelift/facelift have different attachments for the rest of the exhaust from the manifold. The 320i manifold may be smaller - it also may be a single piece manifold. I dunno - i've seen so many cars with all the different types of manifolds on. The b20 and b25 exhaust manifolds share the same two piece gaskets (with the heatshielding) so there's a strong possibility that the exhaust manifolds are the same. Andy, aren't the studs for the exhaust manifold reasonably susceptible to snapping when trying to undo the nuts??? Also, anyone, are the studs reusable or are they use once... Anyway, point being if you snap one of the studs when getting the manifold off it means a mission to replace the f**kers. gmccormack 0 Report post Posted April 28, 2005 A 323 manifold won't bolt up to a stock 325 exhaust system. 323=3 stud whereas a 325=4 stud, but if you want to weld on a new flange you can make it fit. A 320 manifold can work on a 325, but it must be from the same year or in some cases later year depending in the age of your car. The 325's are all motronic (and came out some time in 86) but some dealers kept selling 320 with L-jet well into 87. All the L-jet manifolds only have 3 studs where they bolt onto the exhaust but the motronic cars have 4 Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
