Thanks Nick Do it yourself. replace the cambelt before you install the engine... you'll want to do more than just the cambelt however. but it's all easy when it's out of the car... wish I did. M20 > M20 is pretty easy.

M20 > M20 is pretty easy. I can vouch for that. Some mates, some beer, and one day to do it in. Your set. Would also recommend thinking about doing the clutch while your in there. Wish I did haha. Phatputer 3 Report post Posted March 20, 2011 If you have a few days to take your time and potter away at the engine. While engine was out. Cambelt, tensioner, water pump and seals. Camshaft seal, crankshaft seal, intermediate seal Gearbox will also be out, so new clutch I pulled the flywheel off and did the rear main seal while I was at it. Exaust and intake seals as they are a shitload easier to do out of the car than in Pulled the injectors and cleaned them up / changed rubber seals as well. I also took the opportunity to spend some time cleaning 20+ years worth of crap off the engine. Basics however I would 1) Change cambelt, water pump and tensioner 2) do the camshaft seal while you can 3) adjust all your valves and replace valve cover gasket
