IT Help needed

Recommended Posts

I've got a PC here at home that is running windows 2000.

For some reason I can't get IE5 to connect to the internet and therefore can't download any Windows or IE updates which I need to install some more software.

Mozilla works just fine though!?!?!

Any Ideas???

Fooken PC's!!!

Either there is a prob with IE's Internet Connection Settings, or you have a firewall which is blocking IE.

Are you behind a proxy server? Could be the proxy settings in your Internet Connection Settings.

Sorry I can't be of more help this far away. Someone on broadband could VNC (remote control) your PC for you and try and fix it if you can't get it fixed since your internet connection itself must be working for Mozilla to work.

try this....

Tools -> Internet Options -> Connections -> LAN Settings

then enable "Auto Detect..." near the top, then OK, OK

Restart IE then hope for the best.

Under XP - you can update VIA Help and support - no need for IE ( suXors anyway )

Not sure bout 2000. Have stayed away from that version :)
