thanks for the feed back much appreciated. i was looking at putting in a new stereo but i want something factory looking ive seen them on the web but no idea where to get them any ideas?

If you want iPod integration get a DICE kit.

+1 on removing woodgrain. Polished aluminium will make the car look much more modern, as well as clear corners at the front.

When I had my E46 I got Rapid Radio to put a stereo in, I wasn't too fussed about factory look because it worked a hell of a lot better but you can get stereos that will blend in nicely. (The one I had used the same colour backlighting as BMW which was a good start)
