Steering wheel spacer.

Recommended Posts

Has anyone here used a spacer on the steering wheel of an E30,I would like to have the steering wheel a little closer without cramping my leg space.

If so, can one be made relatively easily or can they be bought at a reasonable price? ;)

If you are running a MOMO wheel you can get spacers from your local distributor, they are ~12mm thick.

the standard set up includes a spacer that goes over the main shaft/bolt you could easily get one made up twice the size out of a bit of aluminium on an eng lathe, would only get an extra inch max because you still need some thread to put the nut on!

Yeah yeah, I pretty much drive bolt upright like a dork anyway.

Well then, just to recap on the spacer biz, I could only get about 8mm

difference from the original position before the steering wheel lock ceases

to engage and the horn wont work, so I guess I will just live with the original

set up for now.

:)
