Manifold

I have found a second hand exhaust manifold.

But i understand they changed mid 87?

It is from a pre FL '87 325i. Is there anything i can look for to make sure it will fit my 1986 m325i?

see if they match up aesthetically, form that it should be sweet

just look if all the bolt holes are in the same place on the head and on the downpipe

there is one big difference between the two exhaust manifolds.

on the down pipe flange, one will have 3 studs and the two pipes will have a common flange.

the other one is each pipe will have 3 studs for each pipe. There are two flanges for this set up. One for each pipe. The flange is in a triangle shape. Where the other is a sort of kidney shape.

SO:

1: 2 flanges, triangle shape, 6 studs total. 2 pipes with 2 flanges

2: 1 flange, kidney shape, 3 studs total. 2 pipes with 1 flange
