RhoanW 0 Report post Posted October 27, 2011 I serviced my car today, 2002 530i (E39) and then used a scanner/ programmer (Autoboss 3000) to reset the service light. I let the car sit for about an hour and then decided to test drive it. When I started it I noticed that the ATSC and ABS lights were on. I thought they would go out after awhile but after driving for five minutes they were still there. I then used the scanner to check the codes I was getting and they are: A/C 1 fault (water valve, left) ABS/ASC 1 fault (valve relay fault) DME/ DDE Motor Electronics 1 fault (Anti tampering fault) I must point out that I had gone into a menu for the anti tampering section because my electronic key lock has never worked and I wanted to reset that. I also reset all codes that had come up, but the indicators still show. I also used the programmer to check the circuitry of the ASC and the button itself turns on and off but the indicator does not go out like it used to. I probably should have pointed out also that the car had no fault indicators before today. Can anyone tell me what else to check or what could actually be the fault? *Glenn* 854 Report post Posted October 27, 2011 (edited) Sorry to say this.... but I think Rhoan might be the culprit. It could also be that scanner.. I'm not familiar with it. Where abouts are you located ?? Edited October 27, 2011 by *Glenn*

I think I am the culprit indeed Glenn. I live in Jamaica. The scanner/ programmer was bought from one of the Middle Eastern countries but I believe it is made in China. The link to it is here: http://www.autoboss.net/en/pV30.asp My question is can I play around with the scanner again to fix it and wouldn't it be better if I knew what caused the problem first; well I know I caused it but specifically what did I do wrong?
