E30 318i M40 idling problems when cold

Hey guys,

My e30 has an idling problem when it is cold, and it gets worse when you put the headlights on. The revs will fluctuate, and it will die sometimes.

When the car is warm, it is perfect.

It has been given a full service, and the airflow meter has been cleaned.

Any help would be appreciated.

take idle control off and clean also. big failure with them

also check for any vac air leaks around all the intake system , hoses split , cracks in intake boot etc etc

check your throttle position sensor and connections, maybe a upper intake manifold clean when you remove the top half and clean the throttle body
