Mikal 4 Report post Posted December 4, 2011 So, on screwing back in the radiator bleeder screw, the head broke off. Whats the best way to remove the threaded part from in the radiator without causing more of a problem? Also, if anyone has a spare radiator bleeder screw lying around and live near royal oak let me know. For a 95 318i. Cheers, Michael.

cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 How'd you do it? The same thing happened on my old car and i drilled through, then twisted it off with a small screwdriver then cleaned out radiator.
Mikal 4 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 Basically what you did but instead of a screwdriver I used a special bit Glenn lent me, has a reverse thread on it.
_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted December 5, 2011 i screwed a screw into the screw as a temporary fix that ended up lasting for a few years... it worked too. i guess the reverse drive bit is the correct way though
325_driver 422 Report post Posted December 6, 2011 this sounds about nearly as cool as the time i had to weld a 12m nut onto a broken thread to wind it out. upside down, under the intake manifold.
