E34 535i - Instrument cluster failure

Recommended Posts

RE: Temp gauge, fuel gauge and odometer not working in E34 535i cluster. Am I correct in saying that if I swap another cluster into the car but retain the original coding plug then I will still have the original odometer readings etc?

If this is the case then that would be a much easier option than changing the capacitors which seems to be the common way to cure this problem.

Thoughts from the experts?

maybe just test with another one.

or use parts from another one to fix yours etc
