MilesP 13 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 Hello all. This is my first post here. I was recommended to post here from www.gpforums.co.nz I have a 1996 BMW 323i e36. It is in almost perfect condition. Calypso red in color done 160,000kms. My question is how easy are these to convert to manual? Also much would it be worth trade me value given its condition both mechanical and cosmetically? Everything in the car works, including all buttons and pictures on the OBC. No rips in any seats and no broken plastic. Two small dents around the size of a 10 cent piece on two separate doors. The car has all the original keys including the main key with torch light, also original manuals. The reason I ask is I recently bought the car and I love the e36 to death but I am thinking I would rather have the manual. Thanks! Here are some pics >>>
Mark 178 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 Looks fairly tidy. I'd pay 3-4k for it if I was in the market for such a car. Converting to manual will sting you about $1500-2k. From the looks of the pictures you're in Chch? I'm not sure of any places that specialise in manual conversions for BMW's here.. but someone else maybe able to chime in. There are lots of wreckers in Auckland such as Ray @ HELLBM who could send you the parts and then you could get a BMW specialist such as DCH Motorsport to install them. Wom 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2012 manual conversions are relatively straight forward for these cars , easily done in a day price will vary depending if you replace anything in the conversion kit with new items but yea as mentioned above, $1500 to $2000 is a good guide to how much it'll cost
