E36 M3 Cylinder head coolant connection Question

Hi Guys looking to install a Water Temperature gauge.

Looking at the parts detail drawing

in the area circled I have a Hex nut next to a sensor.

if I remove the hex nut I'm thinking I could I fit my new sensor in that location.

Am I right

If it's blank and deep enough I can't see why not
