Docile 64 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 e46 m43 318i. had it scanned and came out with all sorts of misfiring. under full acceleration. car will not accelerate and stays at maximum around 4k rpm. under about 1/2- 3/4 throttle i can get rpm to 5k but when i press more it goes back down to 4k+-. idle is a tiny bit erratic as well. mechanic and myself checked for vacuum leaks and none were found. Could it be the TPS?

euroriffic 609 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 Did the scan not come up with a sensor error?
Docile 64 Report post Posted May 1, 2012 (edited) its my uncles car. he brought it to Bmworkshop to get scanned. car had a lot of errors logged so they said they can't accurately diagnose it then. check engine light goes on and off. i scanned with my inpa a couple of hours ago and it showed lambda sensor fault. *Glenn* 854 Report post Posted May 2, 2012 can exhaust shops do tests on cats? any recommendations to which one? pref somewhere close. this car can barely run :/ Remove pre cat oxygen sensor and drive it. Will make a bit of noise and dont drive it too far. The exhaust will be hitting the chassis rail.
