HELP! Ignition barrel won't accept key!

Had a screwed ignition barrel and have just replaced after a nightmare to get it out.

New one went in fine, turned into off position and took key out but now the wee security flap inside it won't let me put the key back in at all!

Any Ideas guys?

do you have trans cable screwed into the side of the barrol??

Doesn't have it due to being a manual. I've got it to work now after prying it to the side abit but it's still quite difficult to get key in but only when barrel is in the column. Fine when it's out.

maybe you haven't got it screwed/clamped up properly to the sterring colum

It's not too bad now. Mite just need a bit of use
