E36 Steering Wheel Question

Pretty common to hear of E90 steering wheels being put onto E46's, and E46 wheels being put onto E36's, so my question is, would it be possible to put an E90 steering wheel onto an E36?

What issues would I run into?

I'm fairly sure Greg was looking into this a while back. Not sure if anything came of it but I'm sure he will chip in.
