deeveus 81 Report post Posted August 23, 2012 Just build a car around it mate. Holden ute's have the same amount of power don't they? IMHO - what would one use this engine for? It won't go in a car because any gearbox would blow to bits with that amount of power, it's size would prohibit it fitting into a car. I kinda don't see the point of this engine? Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted August 23, 2012 2 spd hydraglide would handle that power no sweat.
my_e36 43 Report post Posted August 23, 2012 I kinda don't see the point of this engine? Isn't a lot of things automotive are built just because whoever that built it can? There's a 6-rotor Rotary engine somewhere on YouTube, Subaru had a flat-12 prototype, there was a tiny, fist-size V-12 hand-made engine mentioned couple of months back. Good on them for trying and push and see what things will go. I was hoping to see some white hot exhaust manifold, I guess they didn't run it long enough for that to happen. bellicose 9 Report post Posted August 23, 2012 (edited) Holden ute's have the same amount of power don't they? Mine will be almost close when it's done. (Block, crank & rods are already for the other bits to arrive, very slow process but worth the wait.) Very similar setup to this but without purple paint. I kinda don't see the point of this engine? Does there need to be one haha. It won't go in a car because any gearbox would blow to bits with that amount of power, We used to reliably get 1100hp throught a manualised TH400. 2 spd hydraglide would handle that power no sweat. Do you mean Powerglide? (MOPAR box) Edit for spelling. Edited August 23, 2012 by bellicose

Guest Ari Gold Report post Posted August 23, 2012 Do you mean Powerglide? (MOPAR box) Yep. I don't think bolting a Harley Davidson to the back of the motor would be a good idea
bellicose 9 Report post Posted August 23, 2012 Yep. I don't think bolting a Harley Davidson to the back of the motor would be a good idea Be the only way to make a "potatoe" fast. And the upside would be the handling & stopping abilities of said "potatoe" wouldn't change. Because they have niether of those atributes standard haha.
