adrianloo 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2012 Hey, I have a 1981 318 bmw and the water pump is leaking and sounds terrible. I am new to owning a bmw and am wondering if someone could help me with what I need to replace it with. Do I need to get another one specific for this model or will a water pump out of a newer 318 fit? I am a student so looking to replace with the cheapest option. Thanks, Adrian
adrianloo 0 Report post Posted September 4, 2012 It sounds like the bearing is rumbling. The fan has some play in it and the water appears to leak out from behind the fan when I wobble it or push it so it is not straight. Does this sound like I need a new water pump or just a new bearing? Thanks, Adrian
