qube 3570 Report post Posted September 5, 2012 just want to know what parts need to be replaced/looked at for a 1999 528i to improve/fix suspension and comfort? basically the car has had a engine transplant so the engine is in very good condition, unfortunately everything else has been neglected and I am gonna try to fix it up, thinking about shock bars, ball joints, etc etc can someone help me identify the exact names for the parts needed? thanks

dereklau007 1 Report post Posted September 5, 2012 I know what you mean. Not looking forward to this or the engine/cooling system overhaul... Just delaying the inevitable so slowly starting to gather parts for the various jobs. All the best and keen to see how you get on

Powerflex bushes in the front too - handles AWESOME now, and it's still got crap tyres on it. None of it is too hard, but some special tools are handy. Rear ball joints need a tool, and you want a good size ball joint separator.
