swordfish 30 Report post Posted December 9, 2012 Sooo after three months in a garage and one week of driving and 15 years of hard work my alternator crapped out on me. Its VALEO one... So my main questions, are there any proper alternatives (Bosch) I can use for my car (E36 M3 Euro 3.0). If I can, could you please let me know what they are. Also are they rebuildable and what usually breaks on them? If not does anyone have any for sale? Thank you for any help.

swordfish 30 Report post Posted December 9, 2012 Ok so I've read you can interchange Bosch alternators in place of the Valeo ones, the only thing that is different is the pulley on it and some of the have threaded mounting holes and some don't. Did anyone here did such a swap?
