xxenragedxx 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2013 Hey guys. Bit of a noob when it comes to this. Putting it simply when I'm cruising at 100 my car is sitting on 4000 revs. Everything is standard aside from a manual conversion so on gathering its the differential? Any ideas on what diff to get and what's the cheapest option? The donor car was a 323i and mine is a 320i
thorburn 121 Report post Posted March 29, 2013 Your output in 5th gear will now be 1:1. I'd go for a 2.93, 3.15 or 3.23. The lower the number the lower your revs will be at 100k's

The lower the number the lower your revs will be at 100k's id go with a 3.64 on the e30 i have the lsd and sits just below 3k when at 100-or around there-sounds like you have a 4.27 or there abouts have had that before gives good acceleration but consumption goes up -did a manual coversion on a 318i with 4.45 small case open diff gave very close ratios...have a look at the tag and go from there
pureboiracer 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2013 E36 ratios arnt the same as e30s. E36 manual box 1 to 1 5th gear. E30 box 0.8 to 1 5th gear. 3.6 is good on e30 not on e36
