cliffdunedin 8 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Hey guys. I'm looking at a 2001 e46 328i (94000kms) the guy who's selling it has just bought an e90 so it's been sitting idle for the past couple of months, a couple of things i noticed was creamy colored oil around the cap - from previous experience my old e36 had a similar issue when it wasn't run for a while, does this sound about right? Also it has a pretty good service history but can you guys suggest anything i should check a little more thoroughly before buying. Thanks in advance
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 have seen cars that sit have cream up the top , moisture , wipe it off and take it for a good hot drive and see if it comes back but maybe get it checked as well.
allan 295 Report post Posted June 6, 2013 Do what Brent has suggested. Also ask the owner for the service history not just oil service and any thing else he knows about the car. If you want to go further with it get it checked out by a BMW specialist it is a 12 year old vehicle and thing as you know wear out.

I suggest 3 mile hill going up it or head to trotters gorge and back, that's quite a good drive through there.
