APT 195 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Does anyone know if e36 m3 rotors (315mm) will bolt to e36 non m3 hubs? Thanks, Andrew
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 Yes they will, but the calipers will not, as the M3 Spindles have more offset for the mounts (something like 3mm diff in offset due to the thicker rotors)
APT 195 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 (edited) Thanks for the reply, that's good as I'm not going to be running M3 calipers. I'm getting a BBK made up or my car. Second question: Do the hubs themselves differ at all e.g. Are 318 vs 325 vs M3 any different to each other (apart from the caliper mounting for M3) ? Are the mounting points for control arm/tie rods the same? Edited June 17, 2013 by APT
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 316i to 328i all use the same hub bearing etc m3 are different , thicker steel , different mounting part for the calipers . bigger bearing etc
E30-323ti 66 Report post Posted June 17, 2013 ^what he said^ The 3.0l M3 had the same 'knuckle' geometry as the non-M's (Was done with offset CAB's & Strut tops). The 3.2l M3 had different 'knuckle' geometry. What calipers are you looking at using on the 315mm M3 rotors?
