E60 Video Module - Freeview NZ?

Recommended Posts

Gidday

Does the TV in an E60 pick up freeview channels in NZ? My car has the digital tuner but it died before I had a chance to test it.

If the module does not work on digital in NZ there is no point getting it fixed for the last 6 months of analog TV!

Cheers

Anyone?

The same TV module will be in a 6 series. Not sure what's in the 7 series.

To my knowledge BMW don't make a digital video module to suit the NZ frequency.

yep 99% sure the e60/90 etc wont work on digital due to the codec used in NZ.

i believe only the FXX cars have NZ capable digital tuning.

Awesome, thanks guys.

So you wouldn't recommend spending money replacing my video module then. ^_^

You could make it work using a DVB-T (H264 compat) tuner with standard RCA out and linking it into your video module. Only problem is controlling it.

Dynavin does a system .. but seriously .. digital terrestrial TV doesn't work very well in a car. The digital signal is a lot more sensitive because of buildings or other things.

I have it running in my e39 .. but wouldn't recommend it.
