slybma 38 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 (edited) hi guys im doing an M50 swap into my E30 and seem to have hit a snag with the ecu, i have a red label 413 DME wiring is all done and the engine cranks but no fuel or spark??? is there anyway of telling if my ECU has EWS I or II by looking at it? if so can i get a chip to bypass it or am i better trying to find another ECU the car it came out of is that i know its from a 10/1993 e36 manual 325i any help would be greatly appreciated Edited August 2, 2013 by slybma Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
BM WORLD 1286 Report post Posted August 2, 2013 ews was not really done untill late 94 /95 etc have you double checked your wiring , crank sensor plug in the right place etc do you have power at the ecu?? power at the injectors?? ecu will not activate the spark or injectors untill it detects the engine cranking whats the part number and vin number on the ecu Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

It's going into a 316i factory manual nz new, cause looking at it this weekend I noticed the IAC valve hums with the key on...The vin isn't readable on the ecu I managed the last 7 to be jb02528 The ecu number is 0 261 200 413 red label Any help is really appreciated Quote Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
