Kaz 50 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) Hi there,I've been doing some research online into finding the best way to bring life back into my black leather recaros in my e30. They are in good condition apart from 23 years of light surface scratching and sun damage. I see online a lot of people use shoe polish, but at the same time, a lot of people also don't recommend it. Has anyone used anything on their seats to help cover up the wear? And if so, what did you use and how well did it work? _Matt_ 42 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 First step is to clean it. Mark has found that lux soap flakes and water does a really good job. If you want to repair damage there is no easy way when it comes to leather...sand, paint, fill cracks, protect. Heaps more about doing it properly online. There's a company in the UK that does complete kits for reasonable $ and I think they have a NZ outlet. Excellent for cleaning previous owners' scum off your leather but won't restore worn or damaged leather. The pellecare kit is the business. Have enough to do my seats in the E39 just haven't got round to it yet as it's a full weekend job and needs 3-4 days drying time... With no garage, I've been fruitlessly waiting for a dry spell. JayCee 26 Report post Posted September 30, 2013 I bought some turps and dynamic shwartz bmw dye for my black leather recaros. Turps from here and dye from the uk ebay. Worked a treat.
