Insurance Value help. E30 M325i

Hi guys

Just about to insure my e30 but not sure how much to insure it for. How much do you guys think its worth?

E30 M325i M-Tech1 1987

2.7L Stroker kit with 855 head,

Diament Black just resprayed,

Counter says 300***kms but recently rebuilt

3.64 LSD

Getrag 260

Hounds tooth interior mint condition

Alpina Reps, mint condition,

Sitting on H&R with bilsteins

No rust.

Make sure you insure it with a classic car insurer like swann, and I'd say 12k would be a good price. They may want proof of why its worth that much but they didn't ask me too Many questions.

If you go with a standard insurer like state, tower etc they will depreciate the cars value each year and if you say anything about the 2.7 litre stoker they will freak out and not want to insure you...

Swann are a good bunch. They usually ask for a few pictures along with a basic valuation (like from a mechanic). Give them a buzz.

I have the exact same car but with BBS RS003 wheels and a stock rebuilt motor insured through the AA. Agreed value of $8000. Costs me $400 per year for full cover.

My cars only worth around 8 at a max if it was mint. Which it is not (stuffed paint). Any higher than 8K and they wanted me to get the car valued.

What was the full respray worth BTW?
