Beeker2 69 Report post Posted July 5, 2014 Initial rubber here. Have gone for the safe bet of Dunlop 03G Medium. Have had to run with slightly taller 235/45/17, as Dunlop dont do a OEM size 235/40/17. This should provide some additional compression for ruff roads, and also warm up slightly quicker due to more sidewall roll. Is the size road tyre I ran on the E30, being a better fit with the shorter height (625 Vs 650 of a 235/45's). Prob' 6 of 1, 1/2 doz' of the other in your case. Saves allot of $$ with custom fabrication. What a great build man. Looks like you're doing everything just right! Quick question about those seat rails... If it was a track car, the build would be quite different. The package from the UK was 70kg, but that included spare bars, packaging and sundry. It wont be super light, but it will be strong and certainly lighter than a std steel cage of the same spec. E36 Cage '2011 design' > Core Cage £1231 in T45 (cheaper if you go steel) > Airfreight £500 (cheaper if you sea freight) > Add GST 15% (incl freight) Options: > Extra bars $21 pounds a metre Add time to install cage. approx 40 hours Mine was closer to 80 as we had extra bars, sump guards, sunroof roof repair, bonnet pins, sundry mount points, and more. You can install them pretty quickly, but depends on how much of a perfectionist you are. If you go T45, get the special weld wire from custom cages as well.
