_ethrty-Andy_ 2132 Report post Posted April 8, 2014 offo hey guys, Im looking to buy some rims online and need to know if the following will fit an 1989 E30 17x7J 4x100 +47 or +42 offset Also can someone explain what offset means please other specs are ok if the centerbore is right but offset totally wrong, anything in the range of +10 to +35 with that wheel width will work, though as you are at either end of that tyre choice may become critical. stick to around 20-25 if possible and you will be fine. i dont recommend it, and you will need to certify it, but if you heart is set on those FWD rims, then you could run some 20 or 25mm BOLT ON spacers to get the offset a bit better. Madhatter 0 Report post Posted April 27, 2014 +35 is too big too really, you run the risk of rubbing on the strut with that high a positive offset, will completely depend on wheel backspace.
