Guest Andrew Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Just got a '00 318Ci for the mum - hasn't got a CD player - pic of the interior/stereo attached. Can a CD stacker be fitted? Is easy/hard expensive/cheap? Cheers

37 South 6 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 (edited) Fellow member `Jochen` would be the person to give you the answer. Anything he doesn`t know about sound systems installed into BMW vehicles, probably wouldn`t be worthwhile knowing. aliluya 0 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Oh sorry, i just re-read your quesiton, i doubt there will be pre-existing wires ... but you can easily just lay one down ..
my_e36 43 Report post Posted October 26, 2005 Depends if your car has CD stacker pre-wire. If your car is NZ new, you can verify that with a dealer. If there is, it would just be purchasing a factory stacker and stick it into the boot. OR one of those conversion boxes for some aftermarket (like SONY or Alpine) stacker to go with the factory unit. Of course, for the price of the factory stacker + install, you can almost get a pretty decent aftermarket headunit plus stacker install.

westy 614 Report post Posted October 27, 2005 Is there a molded cubbyhole type thing on the left side of the boot? Stacker goes in there and if it is prewired I'd asume the cables will be there or thereabouts.
