e21 V8 project for sale

Recommended Posts

Finally decided to move on from my 340i project, due to moving overseas for work. Also having another project as well has meant this one hasn't had any love in a while. I drove it about five times, maybe 100km all up, since it never made it all the way to cert stage (kept changing things lol).

I am looking to sell this as a package of everything, or if there's stuff you'd like for your car then let me know and I might split it up.

79 e21 shell. I started cutting the rear floor out to raise the rear end up, so there's sheetmetal missing. Best this be for someone who wants to either maybe space frame it, or maybe as a parts shell for rust repairs to their car. engine bay has been modified/shaved and room made for a larger radiator. steering column has been shifted over to fit the v8. rear end has been shaved for a custom look (looked rad way back when i did it, at the time) $500

engine: Lexus 1uz. I have a Link that's been tuned for it in this car, which made 193kw at the hubs. (Andre Simon, Speedtech).

gearbox: custom adapted w57 with hydraulic release bearing and custom clutch. $3k ono.

driveline: custom driveshaft to r200 diff in modified e21 rear subframe. custom axles, custom 5 stud hubs, custom brakes etc.

front end: custom 5 stud hubs, set up with 540i disks (13") and wilwood 4 pot billet callipers $1500 (calipers alone I think were over a grand). tein front coilovers adapted to the e21 struts (shocks need rebuild).

M5 replica wheels, 17x8 et20 and basically un-used low profile tyres. $800 ono. 5x120.

There's probably more to it, so will add more as I think of things

dyno video:

there's some other videos on my channel, from when it was running. the shiny/polished bits don't come with the car/engine but i may sell them if the offer is right.

Also have spare doors and some other parts like headlight grills/covers. The front and rear windows are still in the shell but the side windows are pulled out at the moment.

Location: Lower Hutt. Wellington.

I've had some interest in the running gear but that's it. Any takers on the shell? It'll be going to the scrap yard if nobody wants it, so let me know, even if you're just after some panels for rust repairs or whatever, or doors or glass or whatever. I'll list some stuff on trademe but thought I'd check here first.

Been a bit busy lately and slow to reply to this. The shell is now gone to the scrap yard but I still have all the bits and pieces off it including all the glass, the custom parts, etc. Just listed a bunch of stuff on Trademe, with more to come that I'll list in the coming days. Here's a link: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=742197381

For the rest, go to other items for sale.
