handgrenade 189 Report post Posted July 13, 2014 Is there any way to adjust the bite point on my e36 97 m3 evo? Thanks!
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted July 13, 2014 if its not a new clutch etc , there will be wear and tear etc, there is no adjustment the clutch covers increase with heavyness over time the clutch fork pivot point will be worn down also which changes the angle the clutch fork pivots on making feel very short etc. also worn clutch master and slave units will be tied etc.
handgrenade 189 Report post Posted July 13, 2014 Dave Already have a braided clutch hose Yeah I thought there was no adjustment .. the engage point is right at the bottom .. Need to really push it right down or else gear selection is a bit tough Should I get all the related clutch bits checked or is it time for a new clutch? No slipping or anything! Thanks guys

Thanks guys i would , try with new slave cylinder and maybe master cylinder , but if the clutch pivot point is worn down , which they all seam to be particually on the m3's due to the heavier clutch and its only a plastic bit, see here... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nnGQLtYnmN4
handgrenade 189 Report post Posted July 13, 2014 looks like that clutch pivot is going to need the gearbox out to replace? might as well check out the clutch at the same time if that is the case .. or is the pivot accessible without removing the bellhousing? I will get the clutch cylinders looked at ..
BM WORLD 1283 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 box off , also clutch pressure plate will be tied
handgrenade 189 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 So the order would be slave and master cylinders and a pressure bleed And if not Drop the box and replace the pivot and might as well throw in a new clutch assy since its already apart ..
Eagle 1662 Report post Posted July 14, 2014 then you may as well do gearbox bushings and seals if needed.
